The power of prayer must never be underestimated.
Words alone have the capacity for life and death (Prov. 18:21). In the healing and deliverance ministry of Jesus, he simply had to verbally rebuke illnesses and evil spirits, and declare forgiveness and healing unto a person. All these Jesus did through the power of his words.
Prophetic healing through words is made possible only by two things: our faith and God’s goodness. Because of who God is, He promises that He will hear us, and grant our prayers according to His pleasing and perfect will.
In Jeremiah 29:12, God says: “You will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” In 1 Jn. 5:14, the apostle John tells us: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” The Bible, being God’s testament and covenant with us, reveals to us God’s promise: what we declare in prayer, God will make a reality.
Prophetic Healing is not always for physical infirmaries, illnesses, or diseases. Many of those around us also need healing from strength to carry on from life’s troubles and discouraging moments. As children of God, we cling to the certainty that Jesus has already overcome the world through his death and resurrection. This means that whether we offer a healing prayer for a friend, or prayers for strength for one who needs to overcome life’s challenges, God will listen. Our words will have power. Each time we declare a prayer for another person, we are manifesting God’s truth that we will receive whatever we ask for, for as long as we believe and have faith (Mt. 21:22).
